Dehradun: The Asian Cadet Cup Fencing Championship concluded with a spectacular finale at Haldwani Stadium, with Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya attending as the chief guest. Over 200 players from 17 Asian countries participated in the championship, and Team India clinched the first place, bringing pride to the nation. Winners were felicitated during the closing ceremony.
Minister Arya highlighted the state government’s vision to develop Uttarakhand as a hub for sports, aiming to nurture talent from every household. She emphasized that even prestigious sports like fencing will give Uttarakhand a new identity on the international stage, reflecting the state’s growing commitment to athletic excellence.
She further stated that hosting international-level competitions in Uttarakhand will strengthen and expand the state’s evolving sports culture, inspiring young athletes and promoting global recognition.
