‘Athletica 2024’: Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School, Amethi becomes Champion of Champions
Lucknow: Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Schools organised the annual inter-school sports championship Athletica 2024 at Guru Govind Singh Sports College, Lucknow. Arjuna Awardee and renowned Indian athlete Anju Bobby George attended the event as the Chief Guest.
Over 400 students from 21 schools in the network of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Schools participated in various track and field competitions, table tennis, badminton and chess in the under-12, under-14 and under-17 age groups.
Padma Shri Anju Bobby George, former Olympian and bronze medalist for long jump at the World Athletics Championships-2003 (Paris), underlined the importance of sports in education to the participants. She said that sports nurture qualities like teamwork, leadership, resilience and perseverance.
She congratulated the entire team of Jaipuria for the event and said that the winners of Athletica will get a chance to receive training at the Anju Bobby George Foundation. The guest of honour was Harish Sanduja, Director of Schools and IT at Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions.
The Champion of Champions trophy in Athletica was won by Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School, Amethi. Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School, Dibiyapur was in second place. Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School, Kanpur was third, Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School, Shaheed Path was fourth and Ghaziabad was fifth.
The Trailblazer Trophy in Under-12 was given to Amethi School, Trendsetter Trophy in Under-14 was given to Kanpur School and Titans Trophy in Under-17 was given to Dibiyapur.
The most disciplined school team award was given to the team of Unnao. Alambagh School became the best cleanliness champion. Sidhauli won the Best School Jersey award. Harish Sanduja, Director, Schools & IT, Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions delivered the vote of thanks.
He thanked Anju Bobby George for taking out time for athletica and inspiring the next generation of sports stars and congratulated the entire team.
The event added yet another feather to the 79-year legacy of the Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions. Seth Anandram Jaipuria Schools are committed to shaping young minds through a blend of academic brilliance and a strong extracurricular framework.
