Mumbai: In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, renowned singer Arijit Singh has announced the cancellation of his upcoming concert in Chennai, which was scheduled for Sunday, April 27. The attack, which took place on Tuesday in South Kashmir, resulted in the death of 28 people, mostly tourists.
Official Announcement on Social Media
Arijit Singh took to Instagram to share an official statement, writing, “In light of the recent tragic event, the organizers and artists have collectively decided that the scheduled concert in Chennai on Sunday will not take place.”

Full Refund for Ticket Holders
The statement further clarified that, “Ticket holders will be refunded in full through the same method of payment used for the purchase.”


This compassionate gesture was widely appreciated by his fans, who lauded his sensitivity in the wake of such a heart-wrenching event.
The terror attack in Pahalgam, targeting tourists, has shaken the nation, highlighting the pressing issue of violence in the region.
Other Artists Stand in Solidarity
Before Arijit Singh, composer Anirudh Ravichander also released a statement postponing the ticket sales for his Bengaluru concert on June 1, expressing his sorrow over the tragedy. He said, “The heartbreaking incident in Pahalgam has deeply affected all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.”
