Lucknow: With exceptional skills and powerful strokes, Anuj Kumar claimed the Boys’ Under-18 singles title at the prestigious Chandra Prakash Agarwal Memorial UP State Ranking Tennis Tournament. Meanwhile, Aryan Kumar emerged victorious in the Boys’ Under-14 category, and Aashi Kiran clinched the Girls’ Under-14 championship.

Organized under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association (UPTA) and hosted by SDS Tennis Academy at the SDS La Martiniere Tennis Facility, the tournament showcased stellar performances from budding tennis players across various categories. Anuj Kumar, who has also secured a spot in the Men’s Singles final, demonstrated his strong contention for a double crown in this championship.

Anuj Triumphs in Boys’ Under-18 Category

In the Boys’ Under-18 final, Anuj Kumar displayed grit and determination as he edged past Anirudh Kumar in a nail-biting two-and-a-half-hour encounter, winning 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) via a tiebreak.

Anuj dominated the first set with precise serves and aggressive returns, keeping Anirudh under constant pressure and closing the set 6-1. The second set, however, witnessed a remarkable comeback attempt by Anirudh, who countered with a blend of powerful forehands and sharp backhand shots. The evenly contested set ended in a tiebreak, where Anuj kept his nerves intact to secure a hard-fought 7-5 win. With this victory, Anuj lifted the Under-18 title and now looks forward to his Men’s Singles final clash against Shobhit Tandon.

Aryan Kumar Wins Boys’ Under-14 Title

The Boys’ Under-14 final was a thrilling three-set battle between Aryan Kumar and Anarv Chauhan. Aryan emerged victorious with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 scoreline.

Aryan started strong, leveraging his powerful serves to claim the first set 6-4. Anarv, however, adjusted his strategy and fought back in the second set, displaying excellent shot placement to level the match with a 6-4 win. The decisive third set saw Aryan regain his momentum with consistent baseline play and aggressive net approaches, securing a 6-2 victory to clinch the championship.

Aashi Kiran Shines in Girls’ Under-14 Final

In the Girls’ Under-14 final, Aashi Kiran outclassed Adya Bhatnagar with a straight-sets victory of 6-4, 6-2. Aashi’s brilliant court coverage and swift gameplay were the highlights of the match.
