Sant Kabir Nagar: Under the directives of Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Meena, the Anti-Romeo Squad of Sant Kabir Nagar carried out a girl child safety campaign as part of the state government’s flagship program Mission Shakti Phase 5.0.
The campaign, led by Women Police Station In-Charge Poonam Maurya, along with Constable Neha Singh, Women PRDs Poonam Devi, Sneha, Israwati, and Suman Vishwakarma, aimed to raise awareness and prevent incidents of harassment and sexual misconduct against women and girls.
The team conducted an awareness drive across various areas of the city, including Samay Mata Temple, Mohaddipur, and Saraiya, educating women and schoolgirls about self-defense, women’s safety, and empowerment. Officials also informed participants about government helpline numbers — 1090 (Women Power Line), 181 (Women Helpline), 112 (Emergency Service), 1076 (CM Helpline), 1098 (Child Helpline), 108/102 (Ambulance), and 1930 (Cyber Helpline) — ensuring they are well-equipped to seek assistance when needed.
Around 120 women and girls participated in the campaign. Awareness pamphlets detailing welfare schemes by the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Welfare were also distributed.

Additionally, during Anti-Romeo checking drives at three locations — District Hospital, Baghauli, and Badgo, the team interrogated 45 individuals. Five offenders were made to submit written apologies and were released with strict warnings.
Officials emphasized that such initiatives will continue across the district to ensure a safe, respectful, and empowered environment for women and girls under Mission Shakti Phase 5.0.
