Another feather in KD Singh Babu Stadium cap

Lucknow: To mark the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India, a grand inauguration ceremony took place at the K.D. Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow. The event, hosted by Lucknow Smart City, witnessed the inauguration of the newly built Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, along with several other projects. The ceremony was graced by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak, and other distinguished guests.

The Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, funded by Lucknow Smart City, spans 1375 square meters and is equipped with international-standard facilities for handball, basketball, fencing, kho-kho, and more. Other developments include a new boxing hall, jogging track, renovated tennis and volleyball courts, and new sports equipment. The complex has been developed to meet national and international standards.

The newly inaugurated sports hall has been named “Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.” The event also featured live broadcasts of the ceremony through various VMS (Variable Messaging Systems) set up across the city for public viewing.
