Another Drug Peddler Nabbed in Lucknow; Used ‘Press’ and ‘High Court’ Stickers to Evade Police

Lucknow — In yet another breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, Lucknow Police on Friday arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Pankaj Verma from the Madiyaon area. The accused was caught with 21 kilograms of ganja (cannabis) and a Renault car allegedly used in the transportation of the contraband.

According to Inspector Shivanand Mishra of Madiyaon Police Station, a tip-off was received regarding a suspicious white vehicle parked near the Masjid Gali in Maurya Market, Madiyaon. Acting swiftly, a police team reached the location and apprehended the suspect, recovering a substantial quantity of ganja from his possession.

Used Fake ‘Press’ and ‘High Court’ Stickers on Car

In a deceptive attempt to mislead law enforcement, the accused had placed stickers reading ‘Press’ and ‘High Court’ on the windshield of his vehicle. These were intended to create the illusion that the car belonged to either a journalist or someone affiliated with the judiciary, deterring police from conducting checks.

During interrogation, Verma claimed he worked in real estate and admitted to using the stickers as a tactic to avoid police scrutiny while transporting drugs.

Police have since launched a deeper investigation into the drug trafficking network to identify other individuals involved. Strict legal action is being taken against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing drug-related crimes in the region and have urged citizens to report suspicious activities.
