Amity University Hosts Musical Evening with Miss International Diva 2025 Apoorva Chauhan to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Lucknow — Amity University Lucknow Campus, in collaboration with Canara Bank, organized a special musical evening “Glitterati”, to raise awareness about breast cancer—one of the most prevalent forms of cancer affecting women globally. The event was spearheaded by the “Amibeats” club under the Department of Dean Student Welfare.

The highlight of the evening was a captivating musical performance by Miss International Diva 2025, Apoorva Chauhan, along with a vibrant set by the Acoustic Band Group. Their performances added an emotional and inspiring touch to the noble cause of spreading awareness about early detection and timely treatment of breast cancer. The event was inaugurated with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries including IPS Padmaja Chauhan, ADG Women & Child Security Wing and ADG Fire Services Headquarters;  Ajeet Kumar Mishra, CGM, Canara Bank; Prof. Dr. Anil Vashisth, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow; Wg. Cdr. Dr. Anil Tiwari, Deputy Pro VC; and Dr. Rajeev Varma, Dean Student Welfare.

Also present were  Ajay Singh Chauhan, IAS, Principal Secretary, PWD;  Vrinda Shukla, IPS, SP Women Cell; and  Ajay Misra, Chief General Manager, Canara Bank.

Welcoming the guests, Prof. Dr. Anil Vashisth greeted the guests with saplings as a token of respect and sustainability.  Ajeet Kumar Mishra emphasized the importance of breast cancer awareness in empowering communities and said, “Awareness is the first step towards early detection, and early detection saves lives. We must collectively encourage timely screenings and educate our communities about the risks and preventive measures.” He also highlighted Canara Bank’s women-centric initiatives, such as the Canara Angels Account, designed to support women’s financial independence and healthcare.

Apoorva Chauhan delivered a stunning performance blending Western rock, pop, jazz, and Bollywood melodies. She opened with the theme song from James Bond’s Skyfall, “This is the End,” and continued with songs like Smooth Operator and I’m Ready For, concluding with the soulful Hindi number Sahiba Neend Veend Na Aaye, leaving the audience deeply moved. The evening also featured spirited Bollywood renditions by the Acoustic Band Group, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Heads of Institutions, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and a large number of students, all coming together in support of a meaningful cause.
