They provide essential advice on medication use, help prevent adverse reactions and play a significant role in public health initiatives such as vaccination drives, chronic disease management, and health education,” she said.
Wg. Commander (Retd.) While society often views healthcare as solely the domain of doctors, it is essential to recognize the tireless efforts of pharmacists and biotechnologists who contribute significantly to improving public health for all,” he remarked.
As part of the celebration, budding pharmacists from AIP, including PhD students, performed a thought-provoking skit on “The Role of Pharmacists in Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Reporting”, highlighting the importance of pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety.
The event also featured a panel discussion moderated by Prof. Manoj Joshi on the theme “Clinical Pharmacists and Patient Counseling”, where esteemed guests shared insights on the evolving role of pharmacists in patient care.
A working model competition for Pharm D students added a hands-on element to the event. The “Drug Decomposer” model won first prize, while the prototype for a cost-efficient Hemoglobino Meter secured second place, showcasing the students’ innovation and creativity in pharmaceutical sciences.
