Inaugurated by Principal Dr. Mukesh Yadav, this next-generation system is set to transform the college’s pathology capabilities by ensuring rapid, accurate detection of blood-related infections within three to four hours—significantly faster than traditional ELISA and rapid card-based tests.
The installation is being hailed as a timely and transformative move, especially as the region braces for the monsoon season and a potential surge in vector-borne illnesses like dengue. “This machine isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a game-changer,” said Dr. Amit Patel, Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital. He explained that the CMIA technology can detect even the most recent infections with high accuracy, far surpassing the limitations of conventional rapid tests that often fail to capture early-stage infections.
With the new system in place, blood banks and transfusion units will no longer be dependent on manual procedures and paperwork to determine the safety of blood units. Instead, automated precision will drive critical decisions, ensuring timely transfusions and minimizing the risk of error. Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, who oversees the hospital’s blood center, highlighted that the machine’s speed and reliability will drastically improve platelet and blood component availability during peak demand, potentially saving lives during dengue outbreaks and other emergencies.
Hospital staff have welcomed the innovation, citing the machine’s potential to reduce diagnostic backlogs, cut paperwork, and eliminate manual bottlenecks.
