Lucknow: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow is in its nascent stage but the rumblings on the ground send out positive vibes. Speaking exclusively to The Lucknow Tribune, Dr. Vijayant Devenraj ( M.Ch. ) Director & Head, CTVS Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow shared that forward looking approach, best medical care armed with top of the line tech will make the facility standout in the Lucknow – NCR region.
Sharing his journey he said – I am Dr. Vijayant Devenraj, Director, Head, Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery and I joined two months back. I was previously working as a.Professor, Department of CTVS KGMU. In previous stints I have held senior positions as Senior Resident in dept. of CTVS, Safadurjung Hosp.(VMMC), New Delhi, Senior Consultant , dept. Of CTVS, Apollomedics Hospital, Lucknow.
He further elaborated that he did his M.Ch.(CTVS) from prestigious KGMU,Lucknow in 2012.
His core focus areas include – Beating heart BYPASS SURGERY (CABG) , Total arterial bypass surgery(TAR CABG), Minimal invasive cardiac surgery, (MICS) Heart failure surgeries (Heart Transplant, LVAD, ECMO), Paediatric cardiac Surgery (ASD, VSD, PDA, TOF, Ebsteins, etc. His other expertise include – Lung Surgeries (lobectomy,decortications, etc) and Vascular Surgeries (varicose veins laser surgery, arterial surgery.
As per his own submission, Dr Vijayant Devenraj says that his idea behind serving Max Super Speciality Hospital was that this is one of the best corporate hospitals in India. He adds that with health and wellness facilities being the best in private sector, he wants to provide best possible medical care supported with advanced technology to the patient. I have been a pioneer cardiac surgeon in private hospitals to perform TAVI and aortic aneurysm ( Type A or B ) surgeries.
He underlined – at Max I provide a spectrum of care ranging from Bentall and TEVAR procedures. Apart from cardiac surgeries we do a lot of lung surgeries like lobectomy, pneumonectomy, decortication etc. For varicose vein he provides laser surgery.(RFA)
Sounding optimistic he underscored – With this new beginning and help of government schemes like the CM fund we plan to serve and heal the poorest and the most sick patients. Over a span of 16 to 17 years I have done 10,000 plus surgeries. I have also published more than 50 research articles in various indexed national and international journals.
Talking of the overall burden of cardiac ailments in the youth population, Dr. Devenraj expressed anguish over deaths related to heart ailments in the young citing Bollywood singer KK’s death as an example.
Optimistic about what the future holds, Dr, Devenraj said – We are already doing state of the art surgeries like MICS surgery & TARCABG. With times to come as the stakeholders of Max Superspecialty Hospital Lucknow wanting to shine bright, we shall very soon be acquiring a Robotics Surgical system. With the best equipment at Max, we have a dedicated CTVS ICU which is rated as the best in Lucknow NCR and dedicated 2 modern CTVS OTs. Advancing the setup gradually is on the cards.
