Lucknow: On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, a pledge-taking programme was successfully organised for students of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) department at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. A large number of students and youth enthusiastically participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to democratic values.
The programme was attended by Registrar Reena Singh and Dean of Student Welfare Prof. O.P. Singh, who addressed the students and highlighted the importance of voting in a democracy. Registrar Reena Singh said that voting is not only a fundamental right but also a civic duty. “A single vote has the power to change the direction and destiny of the nation,” she remarked.

Dean of Student Welfare Prof. O.P. Singh emphasized that every vote matters and urged students to actively participate in the electoral process. He encouraged young voters to exercise their franchise responsibly and without fear.
Organised under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, the programme began with a discussion on the democratic values of India. During the event, students were administered the voters’ pledge, in which they committed themselves to becoming impartial, fearless and responsible voters.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vinay Chaturvedi from the MBA department said that democracy can be strengthened only through active participation of the youth. He appealed to students not only to cast their own votes but also to motivate others in society to participate in elections.
Faculty members Dr. Gajendra Gupta, Shaifali Singh, Arzu Gupta and Dr. Varsha Shukla also addressed the students and inspired them to recognise the significance of voting in building a strong and vibrant democracy.
The programme concluded with a collective resolve by the students to uphold constitutional values and contribute positively to the democratic process.
