AKTU Startups to Conduct Clinical Trials at CDRI: MoU Signed in Presence of CM Yogi

Lucknow | In a significant boost for innovation and entrepreneurship, startups registered under Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU)’s Innovation Hub will now be able to conduct clinical trials at the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI). This facility was formalized through an MoU signed between AKTU and CDRI in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.

Major advantage for pharma startups

The collaboration is expected to greatly benefit pharmaceutical and biotech startups, which often face hurdles in accessing advanced clinical trial infrastructure. With this MoU, startups will gain access to CDRI’s state-of-the-art laboratories and biotechnology facilities, along with mentorship from leading experts. This is expected to improve the success rate of innovative healthcare solutions emerging from Uttar Pradesh.

Opportunities through exhibitions

The MoU also paves the way for CDRI-linked startups to participate in AKTU’s startup exhibitions, providing them visibility among investors and greater opportunities for product promotion. Faculty leaders including Prof. B.N. Mishra, Dean of Innovation Hub, and Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma, Associate Dean, are playing an active role in nurturing the startup ecosystem.

Upcoming initiative at AKTU

Alongside this development, AKTU will organize a “Adopt-a-TB Patient” program on September 17. Under the initiative, patients will be adopted and provided with nutrition kits as part of the university’s commitment to social welfare and healthcare support.

This collaboration marks a milestone for Uttar Pradesh’s innovation ecosystem, positioning the state as a growing hub for pharma research, biotechnology, and startup incubation.
