Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, accusing the ruling party of pushing the country towards unchecked privatization. He claimed this has made education increasingly unaffordable for the common man and has significantly reduced employment opportunities.
Addressing the media after speaking at a meeting of the Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha in Lucknow, Yadav said, “Before coming to power, the BJP promised affordable education and more jobs. But the reality is just the opposite. Privatization has forced youth to pay exorbitant fees for education, and the hopes of securing a government job are fading fast.”
“2027 Will Be Yogi vs. the Youth”
Referring to the irregularities in competitive examinations, Yadav said that repeated paper leaks and scams have disillusioned hardworking students. “Exams are being canceled frequently, and meritorious students feel cheated,” he noted. Taking a dig at the state leadership, he said, “The 2027 elections will be between Yogi and the Competitors, where students and youth will play a decisive role.”
Questions Raised on Health Infrastructure
The former chief minister also criticized the state of healthcare in Uttar Pradesh. “Despite having an AIIMS in the chief minister’s home district, Gorakhpur, patients are still forced to come to Lucknow for treatment. This clearly shows the poor state of healthcare services in the state,” he said.
“UP Tops in Cybercrime, Government Just Watching”
Yadav further claimed that Uttar Pradesh now ranks number one in the country for cybercrime cases. “From doctors to IAS and IPS officers, no one is safe. Yet the government remains a silent spectator,” he added.
Disapproval Over Evictions in Border Districts
Commenting on anti-encroachment drives in districts like Pilibhit, Bahraich, and Basti, Yadav said the poor and marginalized are the worst affected. “If development is being pursued at the cost of destruction, especially for the weak, then such development is unacceptable,” he asserted.
Mobilization Ahead of 2027
Outlining his strategy for the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections, Yadav said Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha members will go from village to village and booth to booth, educating youth about the BJP government’s policies and highlighting the strength of the PDA (Backward classes, Dalits, and Minorities).
