Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP for ‘Destroying Education System’ in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, accusing it of “deliberately ruining” Uttar Pradesh’s education system. In a strong statement issued on Monday, Yadav said the state government’s decision to shut down over 10,000 primary schools would destroy the future of lakhs of children, particularly those from underprivileged families.

“The BJP spends billions on its publicity, but claims it has no funds for schools,” said Yadav. “Shutting down schools is part of the BJP’s larger conspiracy to deprive the poor of education. Most children in these schools belong to economically weaker families. By closing these schools, the BJP wants to keep the poor and backward sections away from education.”

He warned that the decision would have a disproportionate impact on girls’ education, especially in rural areas. “How will young girls from poor families travel far for school? This will force many to drop out altogether,” he added.

Yadav further stated that the BJP has never prioritized education, employment, or youth empowerment, and accused the government of pushing Uttar Pradesh backward in every sector. “The BJP fears educated citizens — because educated people will question their flawed policies. That’s why they want to keep the people ignorant,” he said.

Confident of a public backlash, the SP chief asserted that the people of Uttar Pradesh are seeing through the BJP’s agenda. “In the 2027 Assembly elections, the people will vote out this anti-education BJP government and bring the Samajwadi Party back to power. We are committed to delivering quality and employment-oriented education for every student and youth of the state.”

Yadav emphasized that the SP will continue to oppose the move at every level and work toward restoring and strengthening the education system in Uttar Pradesh.
