Akhilesh Yadav calls PDA a Force for Social Justice

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a press conference held at the SP headquarters in Lucknow on Thursday. Yadav accused the ruling party of being inherently opposed to secularism, socialism, the Constitution, and the principles of social justice and reservation.

“Those who oppose secularism and socialism are essentially anti-Constitution and against social justice. When they can’t directly oppose the Constitution due to fear of political backlash, they attack its core values,” Yadav said, emphasizing that the PDA (Pichhde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) alliance would ensure such forces do not succeed.

“BJP Only Pays Lip Service to the Constitution”

Yadav said the BJP uses the Constitution as a political tool to gain power but abandons its principles once in office.

“They take the oath of office, but their actions show no allegiance to it. They don’t follow the path laid down by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,” he asserted.

He also targeted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accusing him of selectively opposing socialism and secularism while ignoring their role in fostering harmony and unity.

Fight Between ‘I’ and ‘We’

The SP chief termed the current political climate as a battle between self-interest and collective progress.

“Self-centered individuals who only think of themselves can never contribute to society. These ego-driven people oppose everything from social justice to the very idea of a shared community,” Yadav remarked.

He further added that such people thrive only when society is divided and weak, and that they are fundamentally communal in nature.

Secularism Strengthens the Nation

Highlighting the inclusive ideals of secularism, Akhilesh Yadav said:

“Secularism brings people closer. It fosters tolerance and teaches us to live and let live. It strengthens the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb of India.”

He emphasized that true secular and socialist values demand a big heart—something the BJP lacks. He claimed the communal ideology of the BJP is threatened by the unity and strength of the PDA alliance.

PDA vs NDA: Battle of Ideologies

Yadav called the PDA a force for “positive politics” in contrast to the “negative mindset” of the NDA.

“PDA is about people’s rights. It will defeat one-party autocracy. Where NDA is a group of negative forces, PDA represents inclusive and developmental politics,” he declared.

“UP Seeing Peak Injustice, Women and Dalits Worst Affected”

Expressing concern over rising crime against marginalized communities, Yadav said Uttar Pradesh is witnessing an alarming increase in atrocities against Dalits, backward classes, minorities, and women.

Referring to recent events in Etawah where FIRs were filed against religious speakers, Yadav said:

“In this government, even the victims are harassed. False cases are filed, and injustice is routine.”

He accused the BJP of spreading communal hatred by instigating conflicts between castes and religions.

On Bihar Elections: “BJP Will Be Defeated”

Responding to a question on the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Yadav predicted a major defeat for the BJP.

“The people of Bihar now understand the BJP’s Maharashtra-style political tricks. The SP stands firmly with Tejashwi Yadav, RJD, and Lalu Prasad Yadav in their fight,” he confirmed.

In conclusion, Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that PDA is not just a political front but a movement for social justice, equity, and constitutional values—one that is challenging the foundations of power-driven, divisive politics in India.
