Akhilesh Yadav Attacks BJP on Labour Day, Hails Caste Census as Victory of PDA Unity

Lucknow: On the occasion of Labour Day, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav held a press conference in Lucknow, where he extended greetings to workers across the country and used the opportunity to launch a scathing attack on the BJP.

“Today is an important day. May 1 is celebrated as Labour Day across the world. I congratulate all our worker brothers and sisters,” Yadav said.

Taking a political stance, Akhilesh said that the BJP, known for “electoral manipulation,” has finally agreed to a caste-based census. He claimed this is a victory for the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) coalition’s unity and a “significant step toward establishing social justice.”

He warned that the BJP should stay away from the caste census as they may “tamper with the numbers,” stressing that the process must be conducted with “complete honesty.”

“No ‘Manvadhan’ (man-made law) can override the Constitution,” he asserted, calling the acceptance of the caste census a victory for INDIA bloc after a long struggle.
