Air India to Launch Direct Flights Between Prayagraj and Delhi

Lucknow: Air India is set to join Indigo, SpiceJet, and Alliance Air in providing direct flight services from Prayagraj, catering to the increased demand during the Maha Kumbh. Starting January 25, Air India will operate direct flights between Prayagraj and Delhi, offering both economy and premium class options. The airline has released the schedule for these flights, which will run daily until February 28.

Airfares to Prayagraj have skyrocketed, with Delhi to Prayagraj flights now priced at ₹5,748 and Mumbai to Prayagraj tickets costing ₹6,381. The fare from Bhopal has surged to ₹17,796, a significant hike from last year’s ₹2,977. Similarly, ticket prices from Lucknow and Varanasi have seen an increase of 3% to 21% year-on-year, marking a sharp rise in air travel costs to Prayagraj.

Prayagraj-Delhi Journey in Just 1 Hour and 10 Minutes

Air India’s new service promises to reduce travel time significantly. From January 25 to 31, the flight will depart from Prayagraj at 4:15 PM, reaching Delhi at 5:25 PM after a short 1 hour and 10 minutes. The return flight from Delhi will leave at 2:10 PM, arriving in Prayagraj by 3:15 PM.

From February 1, Air India will adjust the schedule. The Prayagraj flight will take off at 2:45 PM and land in Delhi by 3:55 PM, while the return flight will depart from Delhi at 1:00 PM, reaching Prayagraj by 2:05 PM.

This new addition to Prayagraj’s air connectivity is expected to ease travel for pilgrims and visitors, particularly during the Maha Kumbh, while addressing the growing demand for flights to this holy city.
