Raebareli: All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raebareli is actively observing Swachhta Pakhwada from April 1 to April 15, with a series of initiatives aimed at promoting cleanliness and public awareness. The campaign is being conducted under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. Amita Jain and the direction of Swachhta Pakhwada Chairperson Dr. Suyash Singh.
On the second day of the programme, a walkathon was organised within the campus to spread awareness about cleanliness. The event commenced from the Executive Director’s residence and concluded at the main gate. Prof. Amita Jain flagged off the walkathon at 6:30 AM and also participated enthusiastically alongside faculty members, students, officials, and sanitation staff.
This year’s theme, “Har Ghar Swachh, Har Ghar Swasth” (Clean Homes, Healthy Homes), was prominently highlighted during the event. Key present dignitaries included Deputy Director (Administration) Colonel Akhilesh Singh, Financial Advisor Colonel U.N. Rai, and Additional Medical Superintendent Dr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava.
As part of the fortnight-long initiative, a variety of awareness programmes, sanitation drives, and community engagement activities are being organised to strengthen hygiene practices across the campus. A pledge and signature campaign is also being conducted at the OPD gate until April 15 to encourage visitors to commit to cleanliness.
Additionally, outreach programmes will be held on April 6, 9, and 13 at nearby locations to spread awareness among the general public. The institute has also planned competitions such as essay writing, poster making, rangoli, and Swachh Ward contests for staff and students, along with training sessions for hospital attendants.
Through these sustained efforts, AIIMS Raebareli aims to foster a culture of cleanliness and ensure a healthier environment for patients, staff, and the wider community.
