AgroTech 2026 Inaugurated in Lucknow with Strong Emphasis on Innovation, Global Collaboration and Farmer-Centric Growth

Lucknow: AgroTech 2026, one of the region’s most comprehensive agri-business and technology platforms, was formally inaugurated  at the ICAR–Indian Sugarcane Research Institute (ISRI), Lucknow. The three-day global congregation has brought together policymakers, scientists, industry leaders, international delegates and progressive farmers with a shared vision of accelerating agriculture through innovation, investment and strategic global partnerships.

The exhibition was declared open following a ceremonial lamp lighting and floral welcome of dignitaries. The inaugural session witnessed the presence of senior leadership from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, ambassadors from friendly nations, eminent scientists and heads of premier research institutions, reflecting the scale and global character of the event.

Ghanshyam Khandelwal, Chairman, BL Agro and ICFA’s UP State Agriculture Council, described AgroTech 2026 as a milestone for Indian agriculture. He stated that as the sector undergoes rapid transformation, the focus must remain on uniting stakeholders to strengthen value chains, modernise dairy, expand agri-finance and promote technology-led farming. He emphasised that the platform represents a commitment to building an integrated, intelligence-driven agricultural ecosystem for Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering, Dinesh Pratap Singh,  Minister (Independent Charge), Horticulture, Agri Marketing & Exports, Government of Uttar Pradesh, underlined the state’s push for agri-innovation, value addition and export-led growth. He noted that Uttar Pradesh is steadily positioning itself as a key contributor to India’s agri-exports and food processing expansion.

Brajesh Pathak,  Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, highlighted diversification into high-value crops, modern infrastructure and robust value chains as essential drivers of sustainable and inclusive agricultural growth. He stressed the need to empower farmers with market linkages, processing facilities and technology access to ensure higher incomes.

Mukesh Singh, Chairman, Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) and former Chair of ICFA Uttar Pradesh, underscored the importance of strong industry participation in agricultural transformation. He described AgroTech 2026 as a vital bridge between policy, research and enterprise, enabling meaningful engagement among farmers, innovators, investors and global partners. He reaffirmed IACC’s commitment to facilitating trade, investment and international collaborations to strengthen agri-value chains in the state.

The global stature of the event was reinforced by addresses from Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, and Eric Camille N’Dry, Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire. The felicitation of a Brazilian delegation further signalled expanding international cooperation in agriculture, research and agri-trade.

Senior officials and scientists, including Ravinder, IAS; Dr. Dinesh Singh, Director of ISRI; and Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General of UPCAR, shared insights on research-led development, climate-resilient practices and technology integration to enhance productivity and sustainability.

The inaugural programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Ayati Singh, Senior Manager, Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA). She remarked that AgroTech 2026 is not merely an exhibition but a collective commitment to innovation, investment and sustainable growth.

Over the next two days, the platform will host conferences, B2B meetings, technology showcases and farmer-centric sessions aimed at driving resilient, future-ready and inclusive agricultural growth for Uttar Pradesh and the nation.
