Agra Division Set to Become India’s New Hub for Shrimp Farming: Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad

Agra — Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Minister and Nishad Party National President Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad  addressed a divisional-level fish farmers’ meeting at Sur Sadan Auditorium in Agra, highlighting the vast potential for shrimp farming in the region.

Dr. Nishad stated that the availability of saline water in Agra and Mathura districts makes the region highly suitable for brackish water shrimp cultivation, which was earlier concentrated mainly in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. “We are now witnessing successful shrimp farming in Agra and Mathura, which is a breakthrough for North India,” he said.

He further emphasized that Uttar Pradesh, which once relied on other states for fish supply, has now emerged as India’s leading state in inland fisheries over the past two years, thanks to the independent functioning of the state fisheries department. Dr. Nishad assured fish farmers in the Agra division of full government support and special attention to develop fisheries and uplift the fisherfolk community.

“Three Rebel SP MLAs Finally Breathe Free”: Dr. Nishad on Expulsions

Commenting on the expulsion of three rebel MLAs from the Samajwadi Party (SP), Dr. Nishad said, “These legislators have finally tasted the air of freedom.” He questioned the selective action of SP leadership, asking, “If seven MLAs voted against the party in the Rajya Sabha elections, why were only three expelled? Is there no equality before rules in the SP?”

He accused the SP of being guided by destructive advisors and called the expulsions an example of dictatorial and hollow politics. “The expelled MLAs listened to their conscience while voting, and in a democracy, every representative has the right to act in the public interest,” he added.

Government Committed to Shri Banke Bihari Corridor for Devotees’ Convenience: Dr. Nishad

Dr. Nishad reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing safe, accessible, and well-managed darshan facilities to every devotee of Shri Banke Bihari Ji. Taking a jab at the Samajwadi Party, he said, “Those who once banned Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in police lines and stations have no moral right to speak on the Banke Bihari Corridor today.”

He accused the SP of trying to mislead the public and questioned their allegiance to Yadav interests and Krishna devotees. “They feared celebrating Janmashtami during their tenure. How can they claim to represent the will of Krishna’s devotees now?” he said.

Dr. Nishad concluded by reiterating the state government’s focus on religious tourism, spiritual development, and ensuring dignity and respect for all devotees.
