Agra Couple Donates Their 13-Year-Old Daughter to Juna Akhada

Agra: A highly surprising incident has emerged just ahead of the Maha Kumbh 2025, where an Agra couple has donated their 13-year-old daughter to the Juna Akhada. Under this process, the young girl will undergo pinddaan (a religious rite) and will be inducted as a sadhvi (spiritual woman).

Decision to Make Rakhi a Sadhvi

The parents of the girl, Sandeep Singh and his wife Reema, residents of the Tararkpur village in the Bamrauli Katara area of Agra, have decided to make their elder daughter Rakhi a sadhvi. Rakhi, who is currently a 9th-grade student at Springfield Inter College, had expressed her desire to become a sadhvi.

Spiritual Inclination Through Gurukripa

According to Rakhi’s parents, they had first connected with Guru Kaushal Giri about four years ago, after which Rakhi’s inclination toward the path of devotion grew stronger. During the family’s visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela on December 26, Rakhi expressed her wish to become a sadhvi, and through gurukripa (the grace of the guru), she was inducted into the spiritual camp.

Pinddaan Ceremony on January 19

Rakhi, who is now renamed as ‘Gauri,’ will undergo her pinddaan on January 19. On this occasion, after taking a dip in the holy Ganges, with Vedic chants in the background, she will be formally inducted into the Juna Akhada by Saint Kaushal Giri.

Interest in Puja Archana

Rakhi’s school principal mentioned that she had always been an outstanding student and had shown a keen interest in puja archana (worship rituals). During Navratri, she used to come to school barefoot, reflecting her spiritual inclination. Saint Kaushal Giri of Juna Akhada explained that this step is a means of promoting Sanatan Dharma, and the decision made by the couple is one that very few people would have the courage to take.

This incident has left many in awe, as it brings to light the growing trend of young individuals turning towards spirituality at an early age, particularly in the context of the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela.
