Adira Welfare Club to Form Nine Teams of ‘Matri Shaktis’ as Nav Durga

Lucknow: Acknowledging the evolving role of women in society, the Adira Welfare Club hosted a “social kitty” event at Hotel Casaya Inn on Sunday. The program was designed to bring together women working in the social sector on a single platform and discuss their empowerment. The organizers highlighted that a woman’s role is not limited to family and profession; she is a catalyst for social change. An empowered woman, they said, not only becomes self-reliant but also inspires others. A conscious society provides women with the right opportunities to contribute to their own and the community’s development.

The event commenced with the lighting of a lamp by the Chief Guest, Reiki Grand Master and Vastu Expert Sohani Pandey, along with Adira Welfare Club’s founder and CEO, Ritika Chaudhary, and other distinguished guests.

Ritika Chaudhary, the founder and CEO of Adira Welfare Club, explained the club’s philosophy, stating that “Adira” means powerful and great. “Women who overcome numerous obstacles without stopping to move forward with their purpose are, without a doubt, powerful,” she said.

She announced that the club has identified nine key areas for social work, including child education, animal welfare, women’s empowerment, old-age homes, sanitation, culture, environment, human trafficking, and women’s health. The Adira Welfare Club will form nine teams, metaphorically named “Nav Durga,” to focus on these nine verticals. This initiative aims to give a new identity and momentum to the work of these “Matri Shakti” (motherly power) teams.

Chief Guest Sohani Pandey, a Reiki Grand Master and Vastu Expert, emphasized the importance of spirituality, stating that it teaches us how to live. “The greatest power of spirituality is self-control and inner peace, which are essential in life,” she said. She added that people often engage in activities that disturb their peace, which they could easily ignore. “Be a light that illuminates the lives of others,” she advised. She also shared personal experiences from her life journey from childhood to the present.

Speakers at the event praised the initiative by the Adira Welfare Club, acknowledging that women are the foundation of society. They play a crucial role at every level—from family and workplace to social change. The speakers stressed the need to understand and empower women’s roles for the creation of a strong and progressive society.

The program was emceed by Pratibha Baliyan. The event was attended by prominent women leading various social initiatives, including Dr. Seema Sarkar, President of Aparajita National Welfare Trust; Om Singh, President of Chaitanya Welfare; and Soni Verma from Asha Welfare Foundation.
