Land acquisition and basic infrastructure works to get a boost under Mukhyamantri Shahari Vistarikaran Yojana
Lucknow: In the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approval has been granted for a proposal to sanction ₹425 crore for the development of 8 cities in the state under Mukhyamantri Shahari Vistarikaran Yojana.
The objective of the scheme is to ensure planned and systematic development of new cities in view of rapidly growing urban population and to provide better housing facilities to people.

According to the Cabinet decision, the amount will be released as seed capital for the comprehensive development of new cities in Bareilly, Varanasi, Orai, Chitrakoot, Banda, Pratapgarh, Ghazipur and Mau.
Under the scheme, the state government provides up to 50% of the expenditure incurred on land acquisition as seed capital, which is given for a maximum period of 20 years. For the financial year 2025-26, a total provision of ₹3000 crore has been made for the scheme, out of which ₹425 crore will be released in the first phase.
