ABU DHABI, UAE — The 17th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is set to take place this November, under the patronage of Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The event is expected to be the largest and most prestigious tournament on the global jiu-jitsu calendar, attracting over 10,000 male and female competitors from around the world.
Abdulmonem Al Hashemi, Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed his deep gratitude for the royal patronage and continuous support from President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which has been instrumental in the growth of sports within the nation. “The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship has achieved global prominence and evolved into a world-class platform for nurturing talents and preparing skilled athletes to proudly represent the UAE in international arenas,” Al Hashemi said. He added that the championship reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as the global capital of the sport.
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has released the official 11-day schedule, which begins on November 12 with amateur contests. The Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival will be a major part of the event, featuring competitions for newborns, children, and juniors from November 13 to 15. A dedicated Para Jiu-Jitsu event will also be held on November 13.


The schedule continues with the Youth and Junior divisions competing on November 16 and 17, followed by the Master events on November 18 and 19. The championship will culminate with the professional contests, which are scheduled to run from November 20 to 22.
Building on a 16-year legacy of excellence, the 17th championship aims to be a premier international sporting event that not only showcases high-level athletic performance but also promotes cultural exchange. The tournament reflects Abu Dhabi’s broader vision of encouraging sports as a way of life and cultivating a healthy, vibrant community culture.
