AAP to Send 16-Member Delegation to Probe Bareilly Incident on October 7

Lucknow — Aam Aadmi Party’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh  alleged that the recent violence in Bareilly was a “well-thought-out conspiracy” by the state government to divert public attention from critical issues like unemployment and student movements in Ladakh and Uttarakhand.

In an official statement, Singh said, “The Bareilly incident is not spontaneous; it is a politically motivated attempt to distract people from the real problems faced by the youth, students, and farmers. The government is deliberately creating communal tension to cover its failures.”

He announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will send a 16-member high-level delegation to Bareilly on October 7 to conduct an on-ground investigation. The delegation will visit the affected areas, meet the victims’ families, interact with local residents, and prepare a detailed report for submission to the party leadership.

Background: The Bareilly Incident

The unrest in Bareilly erupted last Friday after Friday prayers (Jumme ki Namaz) when members of the Muslim community began protesting over posters and slogans reading “I Love Muhammad.” According to reports, tensions flared when local authorities allegedly attempted to remove or restrict the posters, sparking anger among the community.

What began as a peaceful demonstration quickly escalated into clashes between protesters and the police, leading to violence and chaos in several areas.

AAP Demands Transparency and Justice

Sanjay Singh reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party stands firmly with the victims and will fight for truth and justice. “AAP has always been the voice of the oppressed. It is essential that the real facts behind the Bareilly incident come out. Our delegation will review administrative actions, ground realities, and the root causes of the violence,” he said.

He emphasized that AAP will raise the issue at all possible platforms to ensure a fair, transparent, and independent investigation and to hold those responsible accountable.
