Mumbai : Bollywood icon Aamir Khan will hoist the Indian national flag this August at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025, marking a momentous occasion as part of the festival’s annual Independence Day celebrations. The event, supported by the Government of Victoria, pays tribute to India’s spirit and its growing cultural influence on the global stage.
Aamir Khan, known as Bollywood’s “Mr. Perfectionist,” will lead the flag-hoisting ceremony at the prestigious event, which is celebrated by the Indian diaspora and global audiences alike. Speaking about the honour, Khan said it would be a moment of immense pride and deep emotion, representing not only Indian cinema but also the strength and diversity of Indian identity abroad.
IFFM is regarded as the largest Indian film festival held outside of India.
