LUCKNOW – The Uttar Pradesh government’s Culture Department is celebrating the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ (A Tricolor for Every Home) campaign for 2025 as a festival of public participation under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal’ (Golden Age of Independence). State Culture and Tourism Minister, Jaiveer Singh, announced that this year’s goal is to hoist the national flag at 4.6 crore homes across the state.
A Grand Culmination at Kakori
The campaign will culminate in a state-level ceremony on August 8, 2025, at the Kakori Shaheed Smarak (Martyr’s Memorial) in Lucknow. The event will serve a dual purpose: marking the centenary of the Kakori martyrs and celebrating the successful implementation of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
The event is expected to be a symbol of pride, patriotism, and national unity for all citizens of Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister and Culture Minister are scheduled to attend, along with a large number of freedom fighters’ families, public representatives, administrative officials, school children, and representatives from various cultural organizations, NCC, and NSS. The public has been encouraged to participate widely, transforming the event from a government function into a true public movement.

Key Activities and Initiatives
The ceremony will feature several key activities:

- A collective tribute to the Kakori martyrs.
- Inspirational speeches by the Chief Minister and the Minister.
- A ‘Tiranga Rally’ and cultural performances with patriotic songs.
- A tree-planting drive as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A Tree in Mother’s Name) campaign.
- Live broadcasts of the event on LED screens across all districts.
- An emotional program where participants will tie ‘Tiranga Rakhis’ (tricolor threads) to soldiers and security personnel.
Campaign Objectives and Impact
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which runs from August 2 to August 15, 2025, aims to strengthen the feelings of respect and pride for the national flag in every citizen’s heart.

The campaign has been integrated with cultural activities in schools and colleges, which are organizing programs like ‘Tiranga Rangoli,’ essay writing, painting, debates, and ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ (journey with a vessel of nectar).
To commemorate the Kakori Train Action Centenary, the State Lalit Kala Akademi and the UP Tourism Department jointly organized a wall painting workshop from August 2-6 at the Kakori Shaheed Smarak. The artworks, painted on the wall facing the railway line behind the exhibition hall, are designed to inform train passengers about the great heroes of independence and the historic Kakori Train Action.
