Lucknow: Preparations by the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath to mitigate floods have already saved the public from major losses. The result of the preparations made in the highly sensitive and sensitive areas of the state before the monsoon is that the government has been successful in saving the lives of thousands of people.
In the last ten days, more than 12 thousand people have been taken to safe places in the flood affected areas. The effect of the Chief Minister’s sensitivity was that the officers were also seen at ground zero, while the Chief Minister himself went to the flood affected areas and kept getting acquainted with the situation.
On one hand, while he inspected the flood affected areas through aerial survey, he also did a ground inspection of the affected areas by boat. The CM distributed relief material kits to the people affected by the flood and also consoled the disaster victims by meeting them.
The CM provided a check of assistance amount to the families of those who lost their loved ones during the disaster. The CM handed over a certificate of appreciation to 7 people who rescued 11 people in the flood affected area of Shravasti and announced a cash prize of one lakh rupees. Preparations were completed in June itself.
The Yogi government had started preparations for floods even before the onset of monsoon in the state. On the instructions of CM Yogi, all preparations were completed before the disaster situation arose in 24 flood-prone and 16 sensitive districts. Regarding this, CM Yogi had started a series of meetings with officials from the second week of June itself.
During this, the CM had instructed the officials associated with relief work, from the government level to the officials posted in the field, to work with full strength. After this, he reviewed the relief work by holding a meeting with the officials. In the meeting, the CM gave instructions to remove minor shortcomings during relief work. Not only this, he kept monitoring the flood affected areas continuously. As a result, the situation in the flood affected areas in the state is normal and every possible help is being provided to the people.
Continuous monitoring is being done
As per the wishes of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the officials went to the field and carried out relief work. Relief Commissioner GS Naveen said that on the instructions of CM Yogi, continuous monitoring is being done in the flood affected areas. Under this, a rescue operation was carried out late at night for 11 workers working in the field in Shravasti due to sudden release of water in Nepal. After about 8 hours of hard work, everyone was rescued safely. Similarly, 7 people stranded on the island in Pilibhit were safely rescued by airlifting them in coordination with the Air Force. Apart from this, 76 people trapped in the flood in Kushinagar were rescued.
The Relief Commissioner said that in the last ten days, more than 11962 people have been shifted to safe places in the flood affected areas. Along with this, more than 21,239 cattle were taken to a safe place. 804 flood shelters have been set up in the flood affected areas, in which a total of 1,365 people are living. At the same time, 1178 flood posts have been set up in the flood affected areas, through which the situation is being continuously monitored. 914 boats are being operated in these areas. Not only this, more than 23,93,41 lunch packets and more than 7,345 food kits have also been distributed to the disaster affected people.
Home-like facilities being provided to disaster affected people in flood shelters
12 NDRF, 9 SDRF, 23 PAC and 1 SSB have been deployed for relief work in the flood affected areas of the state. Along with this, there is continuous coordination with Army Air Force NDRF, SDRF and PAC in the flood affected areas. In Pilibhit, 7,433 people and 170 cattle were rescued by boat. Whereas in Shravasti, 213 cattle and 2280 people were rescued. Adequate arrangements have been made for cooked, clean and nutritious food for every refugee living in flood shelters. A medical team has been formed here for health checkup. Also, adequate arrangements have been made for drinking water, medicines and ORS. Beds have also been arranged for the rest of the refugees. Adequate lighting has also been arranged at night in the shelters.
Milk and nutritious food has also been arranged for the children coming here. Dignity kits related to hygiene have been arranged for women. Their privacy has also been ensured. Security arrangements for the refugees have been ensured in every shelter. In view of the activity of poisonous animals due to rain and floods, adequate arrangements of antivenom, medicines and injections have been made at the block level. Not only this, the animals being reared in the flood affected areas have been shifted to a high safe place and adequate arrangements of fodder and water have been made for them.
