Lucknow: RoundGlass Hockey Academy (Punjab) registered a commanding 13–1 victory over Hockey Assam to secure full points in the ongoing All India KD Singh Babu Sub-Junior Prize Money Hockey Tournament at Padma Shri Mohammad Shahid Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday.
In a one-sided encounter, RoundGlass Academy displayed exceptional coordination and attacking prowess, maintaining dominance throughout the match. Hockey Assam, on the other hand, struggled to retain possession and failed to counter the relentless pressure applied by their opponents.
Lalu Diwakar emerged as the star performer for the winning side, showcasing remarkable skill and netting four goals. He was well supported by his teammates, with additional contributions coming from Sheelu Mann, Ranjit Singh, Abhijot, Yuvraj, Harshit Singh, Shivjot Singh and Samarpreet Singh, who scored one goal each to complete the rout.
In the second match of the day, Flicker Brothers (Haryana) outclassed the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu 7–1. Vishal delivered a sensational performance, tearing apart the rival defense and scoring six goals, including a hat-trick. Team captain Virat Singh added one goal to seal a comprehensive win.
The third fixture saw Punjab University, Mohali, defeat MMS Academy Shahabad (Haryana) 3–1 to earn full points. AP Singh, Karanveer Singh and Ramanjot Singh scored one goal each for the winners, while Rishi netted the lone consolation goal for MMS Academy.
In the final league match of the day, Rajasthan Hockey secured a comfortable 5–0 victory over South East Organisation Manipur. Rajasthan maintained control from the outset, with Mayank Meena, Javed Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Sikandar and Priyanshu each scoring a goal. Manipur failed to recover from sustained pressure and conceded defeat without reply.
The tournament continues to witness high-intensity action as teams compete fiercely for top honors in one of the country’s prominent sub-junior hockey competitions.
