Aludecor Launches Industry’s Largest Free Testing Initiative to Boost ACP Fabrication Quality and Fire Safety

Lucknow: Aludecor, one of India’s leading façade products manufacturers, has announced the launch of a voluntary, free, and open-to-all material testing initiative for the aluminium composite panel (ACP) industry. Described as the largest such programme in the B2B façade segment, the initiative aims to strengthen transparency, improve on-site accountability, and address growing concerns related to fire safety and product performance.

ACP products are extensively used in façades and interiors of commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and residential buildings. With increasing project scale and complexity, Aludecor believes that transparent and credible testing mechanisms are essential to ensure safer built environments and protect the interests of fabricators, architects, and builders.

The initiative holds special relevance for Lucknow, a rapidly growing ACP market where Aludecor has long-standing associations with fabricators involved in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. As the city’s construction landscape expands, the company views open material testing as a key enabler for responsible material selection and enhanced fire safety standards.

Speaking on the launch, Saurav Kabra, Director – Sales, Aludecor Lamination Pvt. Ltd., said that fabricators occupy a critical position in the ACP value chain and often face the first line of accountability when product failures occur. He noted that repeated fire incidents have made testing and traceability an industry-wide concern rather than a brand-specific issue. By opening its NABL-accredited in-house reaction-to-fire testing facilities to all ACP brands, free of cost and in a brand-blind manner, the company aims to encourage informed decision-making, reduce risk, and ultimately help save lives.

Under the initiative, Aludecor has made its fully equipped in-house R&D centre—housing the only NABL-accredited reaction-to-fire testing facility operated by an ACP manufacturer—accessible to the entire industry. Samples will be collected directly from materials supplied at project sites, ensuring that tested samples accurately reflect installed products. All tests will be conducted in a brand-blind and anonymised format, with no disclosure of brand, customer, or project details to the testing team, ensuring neutrality and credibility.

The programme builds on Aludecor’s existing quality framework, under which its ACPs undergo a rigorous matrix of over 205 mandatory quality and performance tests, covering parameters such as durability, colour stability, fire resistance, and long-term structural integrity. By extending this testing infrastructure to the wider industry, Aludecor is positioning quality assurance as a shared responsibility rather than a competitive differentiator.

Over the past 12 years, the company has conducted pan-India knowledge and skill development initiatives, benefitting more than three lakh fabricators. The new testing programme is being positioned as a natural extension of this engagement, inviting fabricators in Lucknow and across the country to participate in a transparent, voluntary movement focused on safety, credibility, and sustainable growth of the façade industry.
