Lucknow: With the objective of ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and error-free Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls, Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant carried out an extensive field inspection of Voter Registration Centres (VRCs) and polling booths across Lucknow on Friday.
During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner closely reviewed the progress of revision work, updating of records, voter registration procedures, and facilities available on-site. He emphasized that the revision process must ensure 100 percent inclusion of all eligible citizens in the electoral rolls.

The inspection began at the help desk set up on Booth Day at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government Women’s Postgraduate College under the 171–Lucknow West Assembly Constituency. The Divisional Commissioner interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors deployed at the VRC and sought details regarding deletions and new Form-6 applications for booth numbers 398 to 402. He directed officials to give special attention to new voters, women, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and relocated voters.
Subsequently, Pant conducted ground-level verification in E-Block, Sector-11 and C-Block, Sector-12 of Rajajipuram, where he interacted directly with residents to verify voter enrollment status. The inspection revealed that some newly eligible voters were yet to be enrolled. Taking serious note, the Divisional Commissioner issued strict instructions to the concerned BLOs and supervisors to carry out the revision work with utmost diligence, responsibility, and accuracy, ensuring that no eligible voter is left out.
The Divisional Commissioner also inspected the Voter Registration Centre at ITI Aliganj under the 172–Lucknow North Assembly Constituency, where he reviewed the status of new voter applications received through the NVSP (National Voters’ Service Portal) App. He directed officials to ensure that no application remains pending and that all applications are verified and disposed of within the stipulated time frame.

He stressed that all claims and objections must be disposed of within the prescribed timeline and with due diligence.
He also directed that all VRCs and polling booths must be equipped with adequate forms, information material, display boards, seating arrangements, and assistance facilities for the convenience of citizens.
