Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is fully committed to farmers’ welfare in line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision. In this direction, the Revenue Council is rapidly working to make the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana completely digital. The timeline for the scheme’s digitization has been set for February 2026. In the Chief Secretary’s meeting, Revenue Council officials reported that once the process is complete, the scheme’s operations will be fully online. This will allow farmer families to easily receive compensation from home in case of accidents.
Additionally, digitization will make the scheme’s operations more timely, effective, and transparent. Officials informed the meeting that by December 2025, approximately 29,394 farmers’ applications have been approved under the scheme.

In line with the Chief Minister’s directives, the Revenue Council is fully digitizing the scheme. With NIC’s assistance, a modern web portal and software are being developed.
Through this portal, the entire process from application submission, document upload, verification, approval, to benefit disbursement will be online. Previously, applications could be submitted via NIC’s web portal, but other processes involved physical verification, causing difficulties for farmer families.

Once fully online, farmers won’t need to repeatedly visit tehsil or district offices, and opportunities for corruption will be eliminated. Department officials stated that the portal update work is underway and will be completed by February 2026. Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana was launched by CM Yogi Adityanath in 2019.
The Revenue Council’s divisional report states that by December 2025, approximately 29,394 farmers’ applications have been approved under the scheme. Among these, the highest numbers are from Lucknow division with 3,569, Gorakhpur division with 3,143, and Ayodhya and Kanpur divisions with 2,491 and 2,436 approvals respectively. The scheme provides a safety net to farmers and their families in case of accidents. Under it, farmers receive up to ₹5 lakh in financial assistance for death or permanent disability due to accidents.
The Revenue Council’s digital initiative is a significant step toward Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of Digital India and e governance. Digitization will enable farmers to apply from home, track application status, and receive benefits directly in their bank accounts. It will also save time and enhance transparency in operations. The state government’s aim is to ensure no eligible farmer is deprived of the scheme’s benefits.
