Lucknow: A high-level review meeting to assess the progress of various works undertaken by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation was held at the Smart City Office Auditorium under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, zonal officers and senior officials from concerned departments.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner conducted a department-wise review of civic services, including sanitation, water supply, sewerage management, street lighting, ongoing infrastructure projects and public utility services. Expressing dissatisfaction over the pace of door-to-door garbage collection, he strongly reprimanded the concerned officials and issued strict directions to bring immediate improvements. He instructed that households from where garbage is not being collected should be identified, colour-coded and engaged through direct interaction to resolve issues. He further directed that garbage dumping in open areas must be completely stopped.
Special emphasis was laid on commercial areas, where officials were instructed to hold meetings with trade associations to ensure that waste is disposed of only in designated dustbins. The Divisional Commissioner also directed an increase in the number of sanitation vehicles and equipment ward-wise by the concerned agencies.
Calling for further improvement in the quality of sanitation services, the Divisional Commissioner directed that timely waste collection must be ensured across all zones. He stressed the increased use of mechanised cleaning on main roads, market areas and sensitive locations. Reviewing projects under the CM Grid Scheme and the Chief Minister’s Global Nagarodaya Scheme, he instructed officials to strictly adhere to prescribed quality standards and complete all works within the stipulated timelines.

While reviewing drainage, sewerage and nala cleaning, the Divisional Commissioner directed that all pending drains be thoroughly cleaned to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season. He also ordered an assessment of the operational status and capacity of flood pumping stations, instructing that capacity enhancement be undertaken immediately wherever required. Complaints related to water supply and sewerage were to be resolved on priority, with no unnecessary delays in fault rectification.
The Divisional Commissioner further directed that timelines be fixed for all ongoing municipal projects and their progress reviewed regularly. He made it clear that negligence in addressing public grievances would not be tolerated. Stressing transparency and time-bound execution, he instructed officials to maintain high standards in sanitation, water supply, traffic management and public services.
Concluding the meeting, Vijay Vishwas Pant directed all officers to conduct regular field inspections and ensure prompt resolution of issues so that citizens receive improved and efficient urban services.
