Mumbai: In a country where the rhythm of life is deeply intertwined with the cycles of soil and seasons, farmers remain the silent architects of prosperity and food security. As India observes National Farmers’ Day, it is a moment to honour the resilience, challenges and unwavering dedication of the nation’s annadatas, whose hard work nourishes both the people and the economy. Marking the occasion, actors from Sony SAB came together to express their gratitude to the farming community, sharing personal memories and reflections that highlight their deep connection with those who toil on the land.
Gaurav Chopra, who plays Professor Rajveer Shastri in Pushpa Impossible, drew a powerful parallel between farmers and artists.
“Farmers endure nature’s toughest tests with remarkable resilience—much like the long hours we put in to perfect a scene, except they have no cameras, spotlights or applause. Yet their impact reaches every Indian household,” he said. “Their work ensures stability for all of us. On National Farmers’ Day, I bow to them because we must recognise the strong foundation they have laid for the nation.”

Sumbul Touqeer Khan, who essays the role of Anvita in Itti Si Khushi, highlighted how deeply farmers’ efforts are woven into everyday life.
“National Farmers’ Day reminds us how closely our lives are connected to the hard work of farmers. Their dedication keeps our nation nourished and thriving. I salute every farmer for their tireless efforts and resilience—they truly are the backbone of our country,” she said.
Sharing a nostalgic memory, Rajat Verma, who plays Virat in Itti Si Khushi, recalled his childhood visits to his grandparents’ village.
“I remember watching farmers head out to work even before sunrise. As a child, I was deeply influenced by their discipline and quiet strength. On National Farmers’ Day, those memories remind me how much we owe them. Their dedication keeps the entire country moving,” he said.

Rishi Saxena, who portrays Inspector Sanjay Bhosale in Itti Si Khushi, spoke about the inspiration he draws from rural India during his travels.
“Whenever I pass through rural India for shoots, I am struck by how farmers work tirelessly in the fields, day and night, regardless of the weather. There is something incredibly inspiring about their patience and commitment. On National Farmers’ Day, I honour that spirit—the courage and determination that feeds us all. They truly are the heart of this nation,” he said.
As India celebrates the invaluable contribution of its farmers, these heartfelt messages from Sony SAB’s actors serve as a reminder of the profound respect and gratitude owed to those who sustain the country from the ground up.
