Meaningful Effort for Underprivileged Children: Dr. Himanshu

Lucknow: Underprivileged children at Balrampur Hospital received warm clothing on Saturday as part of a charitable initiative aimed at protecting them during the winter season. The Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics, under the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) charity activities, distributed winter essentials to malnourished children at the hospital’s Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre (NRC).

The campaign aligns with the organisation’s mission to safeguard children from winter-related illnesses while promoting overall health. The programme was inaugurated by the hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. Himanshu Chaturvedi, who emphasised the importance of such initiatives in supporting vulnerable children.
“These charity activities at the NRC are meaningful efforts towards ensuring health and happiness for children from weaker sections of society,” he said.

The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Utkarsh Bansal, Secretary, IAP Lucknow; Dr. Ekansh Rathauria (Joint Secretary); Dr. A.K. Verma, Dr. Salman Khan, Dr. Brajesh Kumar (Executive Members); and senior doctors including Dr. S.S. Vyas, Dr. M.L. Bhargava, and Dr. Onkar Yadav.

Guests distributed sweaters, socks, and other warm garments to the children. Alongside the winter health drive, parents were educated on child nutrition, hygiene, and prevention of cold-related illnesses.

The initiative by the Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics was widely appreciated by the hospital administration and the families. Dr. Utkarsh Bansal noted that the organisation will continue contributing through such socially driven and health-oriented campaigns in the future.
