Lucknow | The annual sports festival of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences began on a vibrant note on Sunday as the institute’s Mini Stadium transformed into a hub of excitement, energy, and sportsmanship. Organized under the theme “AJEYA – Moving Forward With Invincibility,” the event marked the inaugural celebration of “INVICTUS – The Inauguration of AVENSIS.”
The festival was formally inaugurated by Institute Director Prof. C.M. Singh, who cut the ribbon to declare the commencement of the games. The event drew the participation of faculty members, resident doctors, students, and staff, all gathered to celebrate the spirit of sports and camaraderie.
Among the dignitaries present were Dr. Vikram (Chief Medical Superintendent), Dr. Pradhumn (Dean), Dr. Bhuvan, Dr. Sunil, Dr. Dinkar, Dr. Alok (Event Organiser), along with several faculty members and resident doctors.
Addressing the gathering, Director Prof. C.M. Singh emphasized the vital role of sports in shaping well-rounded medical professionals. “Sports inculcate discipline, teamwork, and mental resilience—qualities essential for every doctor. INVICTUS reflects the institute’s spirit of positivity, growth, and holistic development,” he said.
Dean Dr. Pradhumn congratulated the students and highlighted that sports not only enhance physical strength but also nurture leadership and emotional balance.
CMS Dr. Vikram added that a healthy lifestyle is crucial for doctors, and events like INVICTUS inspire everyone to stay active and maintain fitness.
Event organizer Dr. Alok noted, “INVICTUS is not merely a sports competition—it is a festival of unity, enthusiasm, and sporting spirit. I am grateful to all seniors and faculty members for their support and guidance.”
Grand Opening Ceremony Sets the Tone
The festival opened with an impressive flag march by various teams, followed by the unveiling of the official INVICTUS scoreboard. The highlight of the ceremony was a high-energy group dance performance by students, showcasing creativity, coordination, and team spirit. Their rhythmic and synchronized moves electrified the atmosphere, captivating the entire stadium.
The celebration reflected the institute’s commitment to promoting holistic growth, including personality development, physical fitness, teamwork, and positive mental health.
