LUCKNOW: In light of the approaching festive season, including Dhanteras, Diwali, and Bhai Dooj, security arrangements have been significantly beefed up at the busy Charbagh Railway Station. Senior officials from the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a thorough inspection of the premises on Friday to ensure the safety of passengers.
GRP Superintendent Rohit Mishra, accompanied by Circle Officer Hrishikesh Yadav, personally oversaw the security review. They meticulously inspected various sections of the station, including:
- Station Premises
- Platforms
- Passenger Waiting Halls
- Dormitories
- Parking Areas
Directives for Enhanced Vigilance
During the inspection, Superintendent Rohit Mishra issued clear and stringent instructions to the police personnel deployed on duty, emphasizing the need for utmost vigilance and prioritizing passenger safety above all else.
Key directives issued by the Superintendent include:
- Increased Foot Patrolling: Police personnel were instructed to intensify foot patrols in crowded areas of the station.
- Focus on Suspicious Activity: A strict watch must be maintained on any suspicious individuals or unclaimed baggage.
- Alert Mode: The GRP/RPF is to remain in complete alert mode given the expected surge in passenger movement during the festivals.
Leveraging Technology for Safety
Superintendent Mishra highlighted the crucial role of technology in maintaining security, stating that the monitoring of CCTV cameras has been intensified. This increased surveillance is aimed at preventing any untoward incidents and ensuring a safe and hassle-free travel experience for all passengers during the holidays.
“Passenger movement escalates significantly during the festive season,” said Rohit Mishra. “In this context, the GRP and RPF are fully committed and operating in a state of high alert. Our efforts are focused on providing a secure environment for everyone traveling through Charbagh.”
