Lucknow Police Arrests Repeat Offender for Illegal Ganja Supply, 1.14 kg Contraband Seized

Lucknow:  In a decisive action against narcotics trafficking, the Husainganj Police arrested a habitual offender involved in the illegal sale of ganja and recovered 1 kg 140 grams of the banned substance from his possession.

According to officials, Sub-Inspector Ved Prakash and his police team were on patrol to curb drug smuggling in the Husainganj area when they received a tip-off from an informer. The accused, identified as Golu alias Pitcha Sonkar (21), son of Mukesh Sonkar and resident of Hata Rasool Khan, Chhitwapur, was reportedly heading towards Husainganj Chauraha with ganja for sale.

Acting swiftly, the police team intercepted and arrested him near Chintal House, recovering the illegal ganja from his possession. A case has been registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act (Case No. 0137/2025) at Husainganj Police Station, and further legal proceedings are underway. Authorities are also gathering information about his criminal history from other police stations.
