Lucknow, India – In a dynamic effort to empower young girls and nurture their hidden talents, Balika Vidyalaya Inter College, Moti Nagar organized a series of programs under Mission Shakti 5.0 aimed at boosting confidence and leadership skills among students.
The programs, guided by nodal teachers Poonam Yadav, Manjula Yadav, and Pratibha Rani, brought together selected student representatives from classes eight to twelve for a Shakti Manch meeting. During the session, discussions focused on the objectives, significance, and necessity of Mission Shakti. The students also pledged to raise awareness among their peers, families, and the broader community about the initiative.
As part of the event, class twelve student and Head Girl, Srishti Singh, was appointed as the “Principal for a Day” by the school Principal, Dr. Leena Mishra. Srishti Singh was formally welcomed by all teachers and enthusiastically took on the responsibilities of the day, overseeing school administration, promoting cleanliness, fostering innovation among students, and encouraging interest in science and experiments while maintaining discipline.
Srishti stated that if given such responsibilities in the future, she would continue to focus on student innovation, adherence to duties, and fostering a culture of discipline and scientific curiosity within the school. Her efforts received praise from the principal, teaching staff, and students alike.

The overarching goal of Mission Shakti is to cultivate self-reliance, confidence, safety, and respect among girls. Phase 5.0 of the mission emphasizes the launch of a dedicated women’s health helpline, reflecting a holistic approach to girls’ welfare.
Through ongoing initiatives like these, Balika Vidyalaya demonstrates a commitment to continuous development, administration, and teacher-led efforts to safeguard the interests and future of its students.
