Lucknow:In a tragic incident in the Wazirganj area of Lucknow, a dumper driver’s negligence led to the death of a couple. The Lucknow Police Commissionerate successfully traced and arrested the fugitive driver, bringing relief to the victims’ family.
On October 2, 2025, Pankaj Joshi, a resident of Haiderganj, filed a complaint at Wazirganj Police Station, reporting that his brother and sister-in-law were struck by a dumper. Both victims sustained severe injuries and succumbed to them on the spot.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid around 3:50 PM near a public toilet on the road leading to Gulalaghat. The accused, hiding in the bushes, was apprehended along with the dumper involved in the incident (vehicle number UP 32 YN 8859).
The arrested driver has been identified as Rajendra Kumar, son of Mewalal, a resident of Bhaliya village, Kakori, Lucknow.
