LUCKNOW: The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow inaugurated the first batch of its newly launched bMBA Programme, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s journey of fostering innovation in management education. The inaugural cohort comprises 36 accomplished professionals embarking on a transformative learning journey designed to balance professional experience with academic rigor.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. K. R. Venkatadri, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Chemicals, as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. M. P. Gupta, Director, Prof. Sanjay K. Singh, Dean Programmes, and Prof. Omkarprasad S. Vaidya, Chairperson, bMBA, IIM Lucknow.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. M. P. Gupta, Director, IIM Lucknow, said, “The launch of the bMBA Program reflects IIM Lucknow’s vision to bring management education closer to working professionals who aspire to elevate their careers. Every first batch is special because it lays the foundation for the legacy to come. We are confident that this program will bring about meaningful transformation in the lives of our participants and contribute to the larger ecosystem of leadership and innovation.”
Chief Guest K. R. Venkatadri, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Chemicals, addressed the cohort with words of encouragement. “Pursuing an MBA while balancing professional responsibilities is a bold decision that speaks of commitment and ambition. This program is not only about academic learning, but also about applying those insights at the workplace, initiating new projects, and building networks for cross-functional growth. Adding his perspective, Prof. Sanjay K. Welcoming the new batch, Prof. Omkarprasad S. Vaidya, Chairperson, bMBA, shared three Karm Mantras with the students. He said, “At IIM Lucknow, we believe true leadership is not forged in the pursuit of grades, but in the value you add to the system. Embrace challenges, for they bring rewards. Continuously expand your horizons of learning, not merely to be the smartest, but to keep growing. It is this courage and mindset that ensures you never stop until your goals are achieved.”
The event also featured a series of engaging sessions designed to prepare students for academic success. Prof. Pradeep Kumar shared essential do’s and don’ts for online classes, while Dr. Vinit Chauhan, President, IIM Lucknow Alumni Association, interacted with students, offering valuable insights from the alumni perspective. Mr. V. Ramaswamy conducted a session on managing time and multi-tasking, and Prof. Yash Daultani emphasised the importance of learning through case studies, a hallmark of the IIM pedagogy.
The inaugural event set the tone for the program, combining vision, inspiration, and guidance for the 36 participants. With this launch, IIM Lucknow reaffirms its commitment to creating opportunities for continuous learning and leadership development for working professionals.
