Lucknow | With the festive season approaching, including Irani Bahar and Diwali, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate has issued a detailed directive to ensure safe and regulated sale of firecrackers across the city.
The meeting chaired on September 2, 2025, emphasized strict compliance with safety norms by all licensed firecracker vendors. Officials highlighted that both East Zone (15 cases) and Central Zone (24 cases) had been identified for close monitoring under Lucknow Fireworks Dossier Welfare Station-10.
Key Directives Issued
Licensed Vendors Only:

- Sale of firecrackers will be allowed strictly through licensed vendors.
- Unauthorized or illegal sale will invite immediate legal action.
Safety Protocols at Stalls:
- Stalls must be located at a safe distance from schools, hospitals, residential colonies, and other sensitive locations.
- Vendors are directed to maintain fire safety equipment at their outlets.
Inspection & Monitoring:

- Station House Officers (SHOs) and senior police officials will inspect vendor stalls and verify their licenses.
- Firecracker licenses must be displayed prominently at the point of sale.
Digital Record & Reporting:
- Vendors must upload details of their license and stall location on the official UPCOP mobile app and the police website uppolice.gov.in.
- This will allow monitoring and transparency in the process.
Training & Awareness:
- Vendors will be trained regarding safe storage, handling, and sale of firecrackers.
- They must also ensure that assistants at stalls are informed and trained.
Future Preparedness
Police teams will soon begin on-ground inspections in all zones of Lucknow to ensure compliance. Officials made it clear that any violation of rules will not be tolerated and action will be taken against negligent vendors.
The initiative aims to prevent fire hazards, accidents, and illegal sales during the festive season, ensuring that citizens celebrate safely and responsibly.
