New Delhi : The Outer District Police have intensified their crackdown on illegal immigrants in the capital, with a special focus on individuals overstaying their visas or residing without valid documentation. In the latest operation, a Gambia national was apprehended in the jurisdiction of PS Nihal Vihar for violating immigration laws.
On September 1, 2025, a patrol team comprising HC Gajanand, HC Sardarmal, HC Jagpal, HC Laxman and W/Ct. Manju was conducting routine checks in the Chander Vihar area when they noticed a foreign national moving suspiciously. Upon being stopped, the individual failed to produce valid travel documents.
During questioning, he identified himself as Kandesh, a resident of Gambia, and admitted that his passport and visa had expired. He was immediately taken into custody and produced at PS Nihal Vihar.

Following due legal procedure, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) was informed, and deportation proceedings were initiated. Kandesh has since been lodged at the Detention Centre, Sewa Sadan, Lampur, Narela, Delhi pending repatriation.

Officials confirmed that the Outer District Police remain on high alert and are conducting regular patrols, intelligence gathering, and strict verification drives to curb illegal immigration. Authorities stressed that such measures are not only aimed at maintaining law and order but also at ensuring national security and public safety.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, Sachin Sharma, IPS, reaffirmed the department’s commitment: “Our teams are working tirelessly to identify and take action against illegal immigrants. Deportation procedures will be strictly followed, and the crackdown will continue.”
