Technology-Driven Education Key to Self-Reliant Youth: Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal

Sulthanpur/Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, emphasized the transformative role of technology-based education in making India’s youth self-reliant. During his visit to the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Sulthanpur, on Wednesday, the minister interacted with trainees and inspected ongoing training programs.

Addressing the students, Minister Agarwal called on them to make technology and hard work the foundation of their lives and become active contributors to Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He underscored the importance of technical proficiency and innovation in today’s fast-evolving employment landscape.

During the inspection, he reviewed the Industrial Robotics and Digital Manufacturing Technician course under the TTL (Tools and Technology Learning) scheme. Trainees demonstrated a robotic arm developed during their training, which the minister appreciated, lauding the innovative spirit of the students.

Speaking to trainees enrolled under TTL, GITI, the Skill Development Mission, and ITOT, the minister directed officials to enhance industry linkage, so that students can transition seamlessly into employment. He stressed the need to prioritize technology-based trades in all institutions and called for regular workshops to upgrade trainers’ capabilities.

Further, Agarwal proposed revising course structures in alignment with local industry demands through the Industry-Education Coordination Platform. He reiterated the Yogi Adityanath government’s commitment to equipping youth with practical skills and encouraged trainees to aim beyond job-seeking—to become job providers through entrepreneurship and self-employment.

“The government is investing every possible resource to ensure youth become skilled, confident, and ready to drive India’s growth. It is now the responsibility of students to channel this support into meaningful, innovative careers,” he concluded.
