Lucknow: Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (Awadh Region) organized a thought-provoking symposium in Lucknow on the theme “National Education Policy: Shaping Education to Reflect Indian Culture, Nature, and Progress”. The event was held at R.K. Mittal Auditorium, Gomti Nagar, and was graced by several eminent personalities, academicians, and thought leaders.
The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and was presided over by Shri Sanjay Swami, National Joint Coordinator of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (New Delhi), while the Chief Guest was MLC and Chairman of SR Group, Shri Pawan Singh Chauhan.
“To Change the Nation, First Change Its Education”
In his welcome address, Awadh Region Convener Pramil Dwivedi provided an overview of the Nyas and emphasized that post-independence, Indian education should have reflected native perspectives and needs.
He stated, “Our mission is not merely to correct minor errors in education but to expose and halt the global and domestic conspiracies that attempt to demean Indian languages, traditions, culture, and great personalities.”

Education as a Pillar of Self-Reliance
Addressing the gathering, Shri Pawan Singh Chauhan expressed appreciation for the Nyas’ initiatives to integrate Indian values into education. He said,
“If India is to become self-reliant, our students must be made self-reliant, and education is the strongest medium for that.”
He commended the work of the Nyas across 100+ institutions, fostering transformative changes aligned with national identity.
Strengthening Roots: No Substitute for Mother, Motherland, or Mother Tongue
Sanjay Swami, the National Joint Coordinator, underscored the urgency for reform in India’s education post-1947.
He noted that while the Union Jack was replaced by the Tricolor in 1947, no major systemic reforms were introduced in the educational structure. To address this void, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas was formed on May 24, 2007.

He highlighted that:
-
Over 400 seminars and workshops have been conducted across India to suggest inputs for the National Education Policy.
-
Legal victories in 12 courts have upheld the Nyas’ positions in education-related litigations.
-
Certain institutions, adopting value-based curriculum, have witnessed exam integrity without invigilators.
-
The UPSC and State Public Service Commissions are seeing positive reforms in exam patterns.
-
Indian languages are gaining ground in judiciary, with several High Courts and the Supreme Court publishing decisions in regional languages.
He further stated successes such as:
-
Reinstating Indian dress and cultural norms in university convocations.
-
Recognizing Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birth anniversary as National Mathematics Day.
-
Introducing Vedic Mathematics courses in 38 universities and affiliated colleges.
-
Curtailing vulgar content in sex education modules.
-
Promoting 21st February as International Mother Language Day.
Swami urged all stakeholders to support these initiatives through collective efforts of society and government, calling for voluntary participation in the education reform movement.
New Appointments and Vision for the Future
At the event, Pramil Dwivedi was formally appointed as Regional Convener of Awadh, and Dr. Kirti Vikram Singh as Co-Convener. Swami expressed confidence that their leadership would bring new milestones in the region.
