Government-Aided Schools’ Salaries Finally Released in Lucknow

Lucknow: In compliance with the directive issued by the Director of Secondary Education, Dr. Mahendra Dev, on February 7, 2025, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Rakesh Kumar, upon returning from Maharashtra, signed the pending salary bills that were withheld due to incomplete APAR ID processing. As a result, 83 salary bills have been submitted to the treasury for payment. Consequently, the district organization has decided to cancel the protest that was scheduled to take place on February 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the DIOS office in demand for salary payments.

Dr. R.P. Mishra, the State Vice President and Spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Teachers’ Association, along with District President Anil Sharma and District Minister Mahesh Chandra, stated that the DIOS had previously halted the salaries of all government-aided secondary schools in Lucknow due to the incomplete APAR ID process. During a meeting with district organization officials on January 30, 2024, the DIOS had assured that salaries would not be withheld. However, he left for a week without signing the salary bills.

During the district organization’s meeting on February 7, 2025, it was decided that if the salary payments were not processed by February 10, a protest would be held on February 11 at 3:00 PM at the DIOS office. The education director was also informed about the protest plan. Subsequently, on February 7, 2025, the Director of Secondary Education directed the DIOS to ensure that salaries were not delayed. In accordance with these instructions, the DIOS signed the 83 pending salary bills and submitted them to the treasury for payment on February 10, 2025.

The district organization has warned the DIOS to refrain from such authoritarian actions in the future. They have also stated that any recurrence of such misconduct will prompt the organization to launch an agitation against the DIOS’s inappropriate conduct and alleged malpractices.

The meeting was attended by Dr. R.P. Mishra (State Vice President/Spokesperson and District Patron), Narendra Kumar Verma (General Secretary), Dr. R.K. Trivedi (State Minister), Anil Sharma (District President), Dr. Meeta Srivastava (State Executive Member), Dr. S.K. Mani Shukla (Senior Vice President), Mahesh Chandra (District Minister), R.P. Singh (Treasurer), Anurag Mishra (State Council Member), Alok Pathak (Income-Expenditure Inspector), Chandra Prakash Shukla (Convenor, Protection Committee), Inayat Ullah Khan (Convenor, Struggle Committee), Dr. Anil Tiwari (Joint Minister), Sumeet Ajay Das, and other prominent members.
