Lucknow/ Sonbhadra: Under the chairmanship of Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, a developmental review meeting was held in Sonbhadra with officials from various departments. The Governor conducted an in-depth assessment of progress in areas such as health, education, women and child development, rural livelihood missions, and other key initiatives.
Key directives and highlights from the meeting include:
- Health and Child Welfare:
- Reducing infant and maternal mortality rates through focused efforts.
- Prioritizing Ayushman Bharat cards, vaccination drives, and addressing gender discrimination.
- Ensuring timely disbursement of financial aid to women post-delivery and launching special campaigns to cover all eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
- Organizing camps in village fairs to facilitate the creation of Ayushman cards.
- Tuberculosis Eradication:
- Emphasized maximizing the distribution of nutrition kits under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program.
- Collaborating with CSR funds, NGOs, and the Red Cross Society to expedite the recovery of TB patients.
- Anganwadi Centers and Child Development:
- Reported the distribution of kits at 941 Anganwadi centers in the district, with directives to ensure the remaining centers receive kits promptly.
- Advocated for providing adequate resources for children’s nutrition and development at these centers.
- Youth Employment and Skill Development:
- Instructed officials to launch awareness campaigns linking youth with employment opportunities.
- Proposed training youth based on local industrial requirements to provide employment within the district.
- Recommended promoting success stories of self-help groups under the Livelihood Mission as motivational case studies.
- Education and Basic Services:
- Directed the education department to ensure student enrollments and access to amenities under government schemes.
- Reviewed progress in sanitation, water supply, and other essential services.
- Agriculture and Rural Development:
- Stressed integrating farmers with government schemes and providing support for crop management.
- Interdepartmental Coordination:
- Urged all departments to work in unison to ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes and the timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
The meeting also reviewed the status of employment generation and public welfare projects in the district.
