In Nizam’s Hyderabad, sporty murals light up public spaces

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has started a project to make flyovers and underpasses in the city look better.

People are painting murals on the support walls of public buildings on major roads. These include the flyovers in LB Nagar and Himayathnagar and the underpasses at Kamineni in Hayathnagar.

The piece of art has a mix of Indian Olympic players who recently brought honor to the country at the Paris Games, such as Neeraj Chopra, Manu Bhaker, and Aman Sehrawat. Commuters can enjoy a variety of art forms on the paintings, which also have pictures of birds, insects, and other animals.

Local artists chosen by GHMC are in charge of drawing the panels. They say it’s hard for them to finish their work quickly because of all the traffic on these roads. The artists also say that they plan to keep working on their project to improve the visual surroundings for people traveling through these places, even though it will be hard.

GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata is supporting the artists by saying that projects like these not only make public spaces look better but also give local artists a way to make a living. The walls are being covered with anti-carbonation paint to protect the paintings from pollution and water damage and make sure they last as long as possible.

Planned to happen soon, the project will soon spread to other flyovers and underpasses across the city to make them look better.
