Lucknow: On 10th October 2024, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate continued its Mission Shakti Phase-5 campaign across schools, colleges, and public areas to raise awareness about women’s safety, rights, and services. The initiative, led by Assistant Police Commissioner Gomtinagar, Shri Vikas Samiti, included a special program at Mahamana Malviya Inter College, Gomtinagar, where students were educated about women’s security and empowered with vital information on self-defense.
Inspector-in-charge, Garima Maurya, along with Women Officers Aarti Lakshmi Verma, Tina Rani, Gujan Bhaskar, and other police personnel, addressed the participants. They emphasized the importance of security measures for women and shared helpline numbers such as 100, 112, and 1098 for emergencies.
In another session, Assistant Police Commissioner Gosaiganj, Shri Sukila, organized an awareness event at Jaipuria School, focusing on safety rights and services for women and girls. Meanwhile, Assistant Police Commissioner Vibhatikhand, Radharaman Singh, held a program at Amity International School, highlighting similar issues and informing women about the various government schemes aimed at empowering them.
Throughout these sessions, participants were informed about important helplines and security services, including Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, and cybercrime reporting. The programs also introduced tools like Smart City Cameras and Police Patrolling as part of enhanced safety measures under Mission Shakti.
The objective of these programs is to ensure women and girls in Lucknow are educated about their rights, have access to safety services, and are aware of the government’s support systems. The police emphasized that these initiatives are aimed at promoting respect, security, and equality for women in society, empowering them with knowledge and self-defense techniques.
